Welcome to The Zelda Project

The Zelda Project is a Los Angeles, CA based group of fans who seek to bring to life the characters, settings, and overall feel of Ocarina of Time through photography and film.

A labor of love, this project combines all aspects of art from costuming & photography to CGI visual effects.  Our end goal is that we hope those of you who view our work are brought a little bit more into the world of Hyrule through our art.

Several Things to Update!

      First Announcement:

On January 10th, 2011, we finally did our photoshoot for the Fire Temple. It was fantastic, and quite claustrophobic being underground for over 7 hours!

Those of you who have checked our facebook announcements know we have been working very hard in post to begin releasing the latest imagery from the Fire Temple shoot, however it is to our greatest disappointment that our 3D artists decided to change the deal and not finish the models of Volvagia & Gorons unless we pay him money. He insisted that he mentioned this in an earlier email. Knowing that he was up to no good, we made him believe that we lost the original email, so we asked him to forward the email where he made this claim. Immediately we spotted that he had tampered with the original message by adding that he would not perform certain tasks unless we pay. Well, we are not a for-profit group, and we have very little funding as it is for materials. We certainly can’t be paying people, and especially not those who are dishonest.

Our progress in getting to you the Fire Temple photos has been greatly compromised due to this. Please bare with us, we are scrambling to amend the situation. In the meantime we are working on some of the shots that do not require the 3D models!

That being said: TZP is looking for a Maya 3D Artist to create “Photorealistic” characters of Volvagia, Darunia & a typical Goron. Must be modeled, textured(UV & Zbrush), and made renderable with Mental Ray. (Body & Facial rigging is a big plus!) If you are up for the challenge or know someone who is willing to do this for free, please drop us a line here and we will contact you back ASAP!

      Second Announcement:

Some of you who have been with us from the beginning may have noticed that for a brief period of time we had a different website than this one. This was due to yet another person who changed their mind at the last minute. Our web developer who offered her assistance in putting up the other site decided she wanted to be paid for her work, and when we told her we did not have the funding, she ripped down the website out of spite and replaced it with this one you see here.

TZP is looking for a PHP/MSQL programmer to help us rebuild thezeldaproject.net! We need someone who knows how to install a Joomla template and add forum user database integration into the site as well as a CMS to help us control content modification. We understand that Joomla is not the most preferred method of CMS, but the template that we have and the design we have is one that we greatly like and spent a heavy amount of time on, so that is what we would like to put back up ultimately. If you or someone you know is up for the task, please contact us and we’ll get back to you ASAP!

Thank you all for your continued support. Despite many of the economic hardships that everyone is facing, we are trying to create something wonderful for all of you to enjoy, and we are working hard at it.
