Welcome to The Zelda Project

The Zelda Project is a Los Angeles, CA based group of fans who seek to bring to life the characters, settings, and overall feel of Ocarina of Time through photography and film.

A labor of love, this project combines all aspects of art from costuming & photography to CGI visual effects.  Our end goal is that we hope those of you who view our work are brought a little bit more into the world of Hyrule through our art.

Updated Donator List and Fire Temple Update

Contributor Update

We've been honored with the influx of people helping us out with this project.  Since the funds primarily come from our own pockets, the help that you all have given us is astronomical.  We really couldn't have been able to this without you guys.  This really is a project that shows just how dedicated fans are!  We've updated the list of contributors on our donations page.  Go check to see if your name is there!  If you do not see your name, and you have contributed to our project, please send an email to info @ thezeldaproject . net.  We will fix it right away.  Also, if you would like to be listed as a different name (gamertag, e-alias, etc) send us an email to the same address with your name and what you would like to be listed as.

Fire Temple Update

  • "Where are the fire temple pics?!"
The Fire Temple pics have been on hold since we were having a lot of trouble with the digital art side of things.  The concept for the photos we have taken requires a heavy amount of post work, a lot of it to do with 3D modeling.  Our gorons are 100% 3D, since we felt that the only way to make a creature look like that and still maintain realism would be via digital art of some sort.  That being said, we've had three separate 3D artists come onto the project, start, do a great job, and disappear mid project.  At the point we are at right now, we need a 3D modeler still.  Luckily, we have been graced and blessed with the dedication and talent of Mickael Forrett, who is just incredible!  You can check out more of his work here!  http://vimeo.com/meo333
  • "When will we see the fire temple?"
Once we've got sufficient help working on the 3D models, we should be able to put the photos together.  Our goal right now is to make sure we have the utmost quality.  We don't want to release any photos that aren't to our visual standards, and we're sure that none of you would want that either.  The last thing we'd want to do is disappoint anyone for how long this has been taking!
  • "What happened to the fire temple?"
Nothing has happened to it.  We still have the photos, we've just been focusing on other shoots in order to at least keep the material flowing so that you guys as fans have something to look at while we spend our time trying to put together the remaining digital team for the fire temple.  In a way, the fire temple has sort of become a legend among our crew, since it seems to be a really problematic shoot!  We'll keep updating everyone once things get rolling again.
  • "Why is the fire temple page hidden?"
There were so many comments coming in asking these above questions that we hid the page temporarily since we were slightly embarrassed that it had been sitting there without any updates for over a year now.
So there you have it! Have faith everyone.  We are spending as much time as possible cold emailing artists and posting notifications everywhere we can that we need help with 3D.  Until then though, we're sort of at a stand still.  In the meantime, we are going to begin processing the photos that we can work on without the 3D models.  We should have some sort of fun teaser for everyone in a few weeks.  Mickael is working his tail off on these, so we think he deserves an epic round of internet applause from all the fans for such a great job and how much he's worked on this!
If you are a 3D modeler or matte painter who would like to help us out, send an email to info @ thezeldaproject.net with your reel/portfolio!  Thanks everyone!
