Even though the ranch was isolated for those who lived there, it was in the perfect location for Link whenever he felt the calling of a warm meal and a good song.

The Lon Lon Ranch photoshoot takes place in Clovis, CA, and was an undertaking of epic proportion.  On top of the crew driving around 500 miles round trip, the model for Link trained in western horseback riding for six months, the photos were shot over the course of a two day period, a custom costume for the horse was made to look like Epona, the model for Malon sustained a head injury and had to visit the E.R. (see the video below), and the backgrounds for the images were composited and constructed using a combination of existing backgrounds, and Photoshop elements by the talented digital matte painter Mickael Forrett.
